There are presently sophisticated software computer programs that can test dental materials. These tests are leading edge systems, and offer patients an opportunity to easily be tested for allergies. We offer different materials for those patients that wish to consider having alternatives to metals, and choose other restorative materials. We work with computer biotest professionals to determine what may work best for that special patient.
Another method of testing a dental material is by blood testing. When a patient is allergic to a material, the blood test turns cloudy.
If you are having a physician test dental materials, make sure they are pertinent to your alternatives for that particular dental restoration(s). Many times, we find that if a patient uses a standard dental materials test, tests will be performed on materials no longer used in dentistry nor is there a material that could be used for that patient’s individual restoration.
